Situation: This beach hotel and spa, newly opened in March 2007, is idyllically located in Cascais, overlooking the sea. The luxury hotel is based in the former residence of King Humberto II of Italy and represents an important investment for the Portugal Real Hotels group in a high quality product aimed at the events, incentives, golf, leisure and wellness markets. The centre of Cascais is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and guests can sample the restaurants, bars and pubs in the area. The nearest train station is 5 km away, Lisbon is 30 km away and Portela Airport is 37 km from the hotel.

Lodging: Rooms are en suite and come with a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, cable TV, an LCD TV with a DVD player, a radio, a hifi, Wi-Fi Internet access, a minibar, a safety deposit box, a carpeted floor, individually regulated air conditioning units, an extra pillow, a vanity mirror and a balcony/terrace.

Services: The air-conditioned hotel has a total of 124 rooms, all designed to meet the highest standards, using the best quality materials. Most overlook the sea and have a view of green countryside. In perfect harmony with the sea and the surrounding landscape, the hotel and spa have been turned into a sanctuary for the body, mind and spirit. A luxurious and enchanting retreat has been created which combines the effectiveness of sea water with the sensitivity of aromatherapy and the elegance of a spa with state of the art equipment. The resort spans an area of 1,000 m² and has a highly qualified team of staff. There is a lobby with a 24-hour reception desk, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a cloakroom, lift access, 2 bars, a TV room, a games room, a reading room, a smoking room, a library, a hairdresser, 2 restaurants and 16 conference rooms. For an additional charge guests can enjoy the Internet access, the room and laundry services, the bike hire facility and the undercover parking area.

Board: The Belvedere restaurant is a gourmet restaurant serving Portuguese and Mediterranean influenced dishes. The cosy Navegantes restaurant serves a buffet breakfast. This restaurant is also available for events. Midday and evening meals can be selected from an à la carte menu.

Sports: The hotel has 2 outdoor swimming pools with heated seawater (1 for adults and 1 for children) and a poolside snack bar with outdoor seating and parasols. In addition, there is a health club, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room, gym and the Real Spa Marine. Fees apply to the Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. In addition, guests can treat themselves to massage and spa treatments (fees apply) or go surfing, wind surfing, sailing or pedal boating (fees apply). Oitavos golf course is 30 minutes from the hotel.

How to arrive: Take the A5 motorway from Lisbon to Cascais and take the exit to Cascais/Birre. Continue along the N9-1/Avenida Engenheiro Adelino Amaro da Costa (1.5 km). At the roundabout, Avenida Engenheiro Adelino Amaro da Costa, take the 1st exit. Continue along Rua Engenheiro Dom António Castelo Branco (0.4 km). At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit. Continue along Rua Jaime Thompson (0.4 km). Continue along N247-7/Avenida 25 De Abril (0.7 km). At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit. Continue along Avenida da Vigia do Facho (0.3 km). Continue along N247-8/Avenida Rei Humberto II De Itália (0.8 km). Turn left down Rua Frei Nicolau De Oliveira.
