Situation: This city hotel is only 5 minutes' walk from Penafiel city centre, next to the fair and trade centre. Penafiel city centre has restaurants, bars, public transport connections, a park and shops. The nearest club in Penafiel is a 5-minute drive away. Gaia beach is a 30-minute drive away, although the Atlantic Ocean can be reached in only 20 minutes by car. The River Douro is a 25-minute drive away, and Porto is just 20 minutes' drive from the hotel. The Rota do Românico is only 5 minutes away by car, and the Quinta de Aveleda can be reached in half an hour on foot. The preserved villages and the Douro region are both a 30-minute drive away.

Lodging: The rooms are spacious with a fully appointed bathroom with hairdryer. Rooms come with a double or king-size bed, minibar, LCD cable TV, high-speed Internet access and a safe with room for a laptop. A direct dial telephone and individually regulated air conditioning and heating units also come as standard.

Services: This air-conditioned, 69-room hotel has a contemporary architectural style and is comfortable with great views. Board: The restaurant D. António Ferreira Gomes has excellent views of the landscape and high quality food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Guests can choose from the menu and à la carte options.

Sports: While staying at the hotel, guests are invited to visit the luxurious spa to experience the outdoor hydrodynamic pool, steam bath, sauna and hot tub, all free of charge. Guests can receive a wide variety of spa and aesthetic treatments, including Ritual do Chá (fees apply). Sun loungers and parasols are provided and there is a sun terrace and a poolside snack bar within the hotel grounds. For an additional fee, guests can use the indoor swimming pool. Billiards (fees apply) and a business centre are also available. Amarante Golf Club is a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

How to arrive: The best option, coming from north or south Portugal, is to take Highway 4 (A4). Leave at the Penafiel Sul exit. After the toll, turn left and, at the roundabout with the big stone monument, take the 3rd exit towards Parque da Cidade. The hotel is about 1.2 km down the road on the left-hand side.
